PSL Franchise Owners, PCB indulge in Heated Debate

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises on Thursday indulged in a heated debate after the sixth edition of the league was postponed indefinitely following Covid-19 outbreak in the ‘bio-secure’ bubble.

According to sources, the franchise owners asked PCB in a meeting to explain “how did the coronavirus enter the bubble?”

Two teams were reported to change their hotels during the tournament. Sources said that the teams were shifted to a hotel before the event began and then were transferred to another one.

“Was the hotel staff bio-secure?” the franchise owners asked PCB while adding that many events also took place there.

The owners, in the meeting, expressed anger at the PCB for its mismanagement. At which, the PCB accepted its shortcomings.

According to sources, the two players who tested positive for the virus belonged to Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars.
