Qualcomm & T-Mobile Collaborates to Spread Gigabit LTE in 430 Markets
Yesterday, on November 9, 2017 Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. achieved another milestone.  Qualcomm Technologies a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated and T-Mobile exhibited the speed and power of Gigabit Class LTE on T-Mobile’s network with flagship smartphones powered by Snapdragon Gigabit LTE modems. The event took place in the San Jose Convention Center. Qualcomm & T-Mobile Collaborates to Spread Gigabit LTE in 430 Markets
It was announced that LTE Advanced, the next generation of LTE, has extended to more than 920 markets, outshining every other national wireless company, with a powerful combination of three speed-boosting technologies – carrier aggregation4X4 MIMO and 256 QAM. Gigabit live now dwells in 430 markets. T-Mobile also unwrapped plans to launch License Assisted Access (LAA), another advanced LTE technology which taps into unlicensed spectrum, on small cells this year to further densify the network for even more capacity and speed.

T-Mobile has been introducing LTE Advanced technologies in the market since past three years and was the first one to globally come up with 4X4 MIMO technology. The Un-carrier has more than doubled its LTE Advanced footprint since last year and is swiftly expanding the technology on a gigantic scale. In addition, the capacity and speed capabilities of the Un-carrier’s LAA small cell deployment are paving the way for 5G with an impenetrable upgradable infrastructure.
Gigabit Class LTE is pivotal milestone on the course to 5G, it is providing a solid foundation on which 5G networks will be built. It also provides an early glimpse of what consumers can expect in the future, and allows app developers to experiment with next-generation experiences. One bottleneck for using gigabit LTE is whether you own a supported device and also living in accessible area. By and large this new development by T-mobile is promising and we hope that it lives up to the expectations of its users.
