PSL CHANGED THE LIVES OF BUDDING PLAYERS: IFTIKHAR ALI


ISLAMABAD:The right-handed batsman Iftikhar Ahmad on Sunday called Pakistan Super League (PSL) a solid platform for players to show their skills as it changed the lives of budding players.
Talking to a private news channel, he said, “For me, there is only domestic and PSL where I can play and show my strength”.
Karachi Kings’ middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed was also optimistic that his team would find a place in playoffs in the ongoing edition of PSL.
“We have strong combinations within our team. We need to win upcoming matches to make our position strong”, he added.
He explained the team’s strategy for the match against Lahore Qalandars which they won by five wickets saying: “Captain (Imad Wasim) had told me if the left-handers come, I will have to bowl and I did well.”
The 33-years-old was optimistic that his performance would help him to get a place in the national team which was a dream of every player.
He was quick to add that his record in first-class cricket speaks itself.
“My job is to perform well and I am among the three top scorers in Pakistan,” he said.
The hard-hitting batsman had scored 351 runs in the 2016-17 National One-Day Cup at an average of 58.50, while made 236 runs at an average of 59 in the 2017-18 One-Day Cup.
